Ana and Grace! My mother used to make these cookies. From what I can tell, your recipe is the same as hers, so maybe you can help me because I have never been able to get them right. They either don’t set hard like they should, or end up being all crystallized and grainy. I realize it’s because I am not cooking them at the correct temperature and/or for the right amount of time, but I do not know which thing I’ve done wrong in order to error correct. Please troubleshoot my cookies!!!
Hi Danielle, it’s a good classic recipe!
Maybe when you are cooking the chocolate butter mixture on the stovetop, cook just a tad longer, stirring constantly, to hold down the boil. When the mixture becomes shiny, remove from heat.
Hope this helps!
How do I get your recipes on a regular basis?

This recipe took me back 60 years, to my elementary school lunchroom. Our lunch lady used to make these cookies just occasionally enough to make them a special treat. I tried them, easy enough even for me to make, and I was suddenly 6 years old again! Thanks, Ana
