Ginger Molasses Cookies

Ingredients

  • Dry Ingredients – Sift Together
  • 2 1/2 cups 2 1/2 flour

  • 2 teaspoons 2 baking powder

  • 1 Tablespoon 1 ground ginger

  • 1 teaspoon 1 cinnamon

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 ground cloves

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 salt

  • Wet Ingredients – Cream butter with sugars, then add remaining
  • 3/4 cup 3/4 butter

  • 1/2 cup 1/2 white sugar

  • 1/2 cup 1/2 brown sugar

  • 1 1 egg

  • 1/4 c 1/4 molasses

Directions

  • DRY INGREDIENTS: Sift together the dry ingredients: Flour, baking powder, ground ginger, cinnamon, ground cloves, and salt.
    Set aside.
  • CREAM BUTTER WITH SUGARS: In a stand mixer or using a hand mixer cream together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar.
  • ADD REMAINING WET: Add the egg and molasses and beat until fluffy.
  • FOLD IN DRY: Gradually add in the dry mixture and beat until fully incorporated.
  • CHILL: Chill the dough for about 2 hours in the refrigerator.
  • PREHEAT OVEN: Once chilled, preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  • ROLL COOKIES: Roll the dough into 1 inch balls, then roll in a bowl of sugar.
  • BAKE: Place on prepared baking sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until cookies start to crack on top.
