Ginger Molasses Cookies

Ingredients
- Dry Ingredients – Sift Together
2 1/2 cups 2 1/2 flour
2 teaspoons 2 baking powder
1 Tablespoon 1 ground ginger
1 teaspoon 1 cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon 1/2 ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon 1/2 salt
- Wet Ingredients – Cream butter with sugars, then add remaining
3/4 cup 3/4 butter
1/2 cup 1/2 white sugar
1/2 cup 1/2 brown sugar
1 1 egg
1/4 c 1/4 molasses
Directions
- DRY INGREDIENTS: Sift together the dry ingredients: Flour, baking powder, ground ginger, cinnamon, ground cloves, and salt.
Set aside. - CREAM BUTTER WITH SUGARS: In a stand mixer or using a hand mixer cream together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar.
- ADD REMAINING WET: Add the egg and molasses and beat until fluffy.
- FOLD IN DRY: Gradually add in the dry mixture and beat until fully incorporated.
- CHILL: Chill the dough for about 2 hours in the refrigerator.
- PREHEAT OVEN: Once chilled, preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- ROLL COOKIES: Roll the dough into 1 inch balls, then roll in a bowl of sugar.
- BAKE: Place on prepared baking sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until cookies start to crack on top.
