Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp 2 olive oil

  • 2 pounds 2 ground beef

  • 1 1 onion, diced

  • 1 15 oz can 1 diced tomatoes

  • 1 15 oz can 1 tomato sauce

  • 2 15 oz cans 2 beans, rinsed and drained

  • Spices for Chili
  • 2 tbsp 2 chili powder

  • 1 tbsp 1 ground cumin

  • 1 tbsp 1 sugar

  • 2 tsp 2 salt

  • 2 tsp 2 black pepper

Directions

  • BROWN GROUND BEEF: First, brown the ground beef in hot oil in either the cooking appliance or a pan on the stovetop if your cooking appliance does not have a saute mode.
  • SAUTE THE VEGETABLES: While the meat is browning, dice vegetables. Add to the meat and saute until fragrant and onions soften and become translucent.
  • ADD EVERYTHING TO THE POT: Add all ingredients to the slow cooker pot or the instant pot.
  • SLOW COOKER: Slow cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  • INSTANT POT: Pressure cook on high for at least 30 minutes. Cooking on high longer will make the chili softer and flavors more developed.

Just a little note. On your cover page for the chili it say more time for on high and less for on low.
