Ingredients

  • Dry Ingredients
  • 1-3/4 cup 1-3/4 all purpose flour

  • 2 cups 2 sugar

  • 3/4 cup 3/4 cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp 1 baking powder

  • 2 tsp 2 baking soda

  • Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup 1 milk

  • 1/2 cup 1/2 oil

  • 2 2 eggs

  • 1 tsp 1 vanilla

  • 1 cup 1 brewed coffee

Directions

  • MIX DRY INGREDIENTS: In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  • MIX WET INGREDIENTS: In separate bowl, whisk together eggs, oil, milk and vanilla.
  • MIX WET AND DRY TOGETHER: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and mix.
  • ADD COFFEE: Add 1 cup coffee to cake batter.
  • BAKE: Divide batter into two greased or lined 9″ round cake pans and bake at 350 degrees F for 35-40 minutes.

  1. My daughter (15) made this last night as a sheet cake. She forgot the oil. She topped with the cream cheese frosting.

    It was a huge hit, so many people asked for this recipe. The entire cake is gone!
