This lemonade is based off a 1 cup sugar to 1 cup water to 1 cup lemon juice ratio to make a half gallon (standard pitcher size) amount of lemonade. The sugar is disolved first in boiling water to fully integrate it.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup 1 sugar

  • 1 cup 1 water

  • 4-8 4-8 lemons, juiced to make 1 cup lemon juice

  • 4-5 cups 4-5 water to top off

Directions

  • DISOLVE SUGAR: To make the sugar disolve and not be grainy, first, boil sugar in 1 cup water, stirring to combine. The mixture will go from cloudy to clear and glassy when ready. Remove from heat.
  • SQUEEZE LEMONS: Use a lemon juicer or squeezer to juice the lemons. Juice enough lemons to make 1 cup of juice. 4 extra large lemons or 8 small lemons is a good estimate.
  • MIX TOGETHER: In a half gallon pitcher, mix all ingredients together. Top off with water to fill pitcher.
  • SERVE: Serve over ice, garnish with lemons and mint leaves.
