Ingredients

  • 7 medium to large potatoes, any variety

  • 4 tbsp (half a stick) of butter

  • 1/4 cup sour cream (optional)

  • 1/3 cup whole milk

  • 1/2-1 tsp garlic powder

  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  • Wash and peel (optional) potatoes and dice up.
  • Boil potatoes in large pot about 10 minutes, until potato splits easily when pierced with a fork.
  • Drain potatoes and place in mixing bowl.
  • Add butter.
  • Beat on low to medium until fully mixed and consistent.
  • Add remaining ingredients and season to taste.
