How to make spaghetti meat sauce from canned tomato sauce. This is a low fat, healthy recipe that is easy to modify. Serve over spaghetti noodles with Parmesan for a quick and easy family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1-1/2 pounds ground beef or Italian sausage

  • 2 (15 oz) cans tomato sauce

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp oregano

  • 1 can tomato paste (optional)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil (optional)

Directions

  • In a large pan on medium heat, brown meat in water with lid on. Break meat up into small pieces.
  • Add remaining ingredients and let simmer until ready to serve.
  • Serve over spaghetti noodles with Parmesan cheese.
